  • hostname
  • 10

  1. Login to Your WHMCS Panel:

    • Go to the GermanVPS.com website and log into the WHMCS client area using your credentials.
  2. Access the VPS Management Section:

    • Once logged in, navigate to the section where your active services or VPS are listed.
    • Click on the VPS whose hostname you want to change. This will open the VPS management page.
  3. Find the Hostname Option:

    • In the VPS management interface, click on "Setup" and than on "change hostname"
    •
  4. Change the Hostname:

    • In the hostname field, enter the new hostname you wish to assign to your VPS. Ensure that the new hostname follows the correct format:
      • Must be a fully qualified domain name (FQDN), e.g., server.example.com
      • It should not contain spaces or special characters.
  5. Save the Changes:

    • After entering the new hostname, click on the Save button to apply the changes.
  6. Reboot the VPS (if required):

    •
    • If prompted or if the hostname doesn’t update immediately, go back to the VPS management page and use the Reboot option.
  7. Verify the Change:

    • Once the VPS reboots, you can verify the new hostname by logging into the server and running:

      hostname
    • Alternatively, in many panels, the new hostname will also appear in the VPS management dashboard.

Additional Notes:

  • If the custom portal interface doesn’t show a direct option for changing the hostname, you may need to use SSH or another management tool provided by GermanVPS to manually update the hostname.
  • Make sure the new hostname is DNS resolvable and properly configured if you plan to use it for services or domain-related tasks.

This should help you update the hostname using the custom panel provided by GermanVPS!
